Rediscovering Town Lake

Posted on 05:59 by Roger
Last Friday, I was reminded why I love living in Austin so much.  Little B and I met up with a friend downtown for a walk around Town Lake.  The air was crisp, the colors were so bright, and everyone was enjoying the outdoors.  Runners with their dogs, mommas pushing strollers, kids playing chase, kayaks gliding through the water.  It is like with summer's end, the whole town woke up, dusted off the heat, and peeked outside of their air conditioned homes for some good ol' fresh air.

Yes, the summers in Texas can be brutal.  But the way I see it, summer is like our winter.  We stay indoors and curse mother nature during the months of July, August, and early September.  But when fall arrives, so does our freedom.  And man, oh man, do we appreciate it.

This is the perfect time of year when we enjoy happy hours outside on the deck, take the kiddos to swing at the playground, open all the windows in the house, head out for a picnic at Zilker Park, and watch football under a bright sunny sky.  Hooray for Fall!

I am so excited about this weather and the chance to rediscover all of my favorite things about Austin.  What is your favorite activity to do in the fall?
