Today...
I shipped out my very first international Etsy order! To Hong Kong! And the order was for 2 hair clips! I feel so worldly. It is kind of like the feeling you get when your passport is stamped. Thank you to everyone who has hit up my shop the past few days!
Little B and I got all ready to go to the pool - sunscreen was applied, swim diapers put on, cold water and snacks packed - only to get there and find out that it was closed. Groan! And almost 2 year old does not understand the term "pool maintenance". She was pissed. And so was I. It is supposed to be 105 today. There is nothing else to do but be in the pool. So I did what any other mother would do in the situation, I told her that we were going to go to a better pool. Then I took her home, put her in the big bathtub with fancy jets, turned on the bubbles, gave her her pool toys and told her that we were going swimming. She was happy and I did not have to endure a toddler meltdown. Whew! Close call.
We are still eating (and loving) our homemade yogurt. I have figured out that a gallon's worth of milk will last us about 3-4 weeks. I can make yogurt once a month. So easy! Some of our favorite ways to eat it:
And while we are still on the subject of food. I am craving ooey-gooey chocolate. Specifically, I am craving this chocolate in the form of cupcakes. Now, I am not a huge cake fan. Icing, yes. Cake, no. But if you make the cupcake really ooey-gooey and then pile on delicious icing... well, that is a cake that I can believe in. I think it all comes down to the icing/cake ratio. I might just have to break down this afternoon and make some. I am sure that my husband would not mind in the slightest if he walked in to a plate of cupcakes on the table.
While I type this, Little B is running around with her blanket wrapped around her shoulders. She is so busy looking at her pseudo-cape billow out behind her that she keeps running into things. This makes me realize 2 things:

- Mixed with a spoonful (or 2) of homemade jam (strawberry vanilla is the current favorite)
- Topped with granola and berries
- In smoothies
- With peaches and a drizzle of honey

- I think my girl is ready for her first real cape... such a rite of passage. Maybe I will make one for her. Something with awesome, obnoxious colors, but no pink and good billowing capacity.
- A proper cape running space must be set up. While a few cuts and bruises make most super heroes look more distinguished. I would prefer my little girl to keep a non-distinguished look about her
