Dinner at Eight

Posted on 06:30 by Roger

Like many people these days, the budget is tight and eating out/paying for babysitters/etc is not something that we can swing on a regular basis.  So when I saw this post over on A Bit of Sunshine about date nights at home (aka Dinner at Eight), I thought it was a brilliant idea.

Dinner at Eight is this idea that Rebekah had with her friend Andi, where they would plan date night at home with their husbands every other week.  The kids would be put to bed early and they would have time set aside to focus on their marriages.

Everyone who has ever had a kid knows the strain that can put on a marriage.  Not in a horrible way... more like the focus is so much on making sure that the kid survives that there is not much energy left for anything else.

That is why this Dinner at Eight idea is so good.  It is simple.  It takes away all of the stress of a conventional date night - finding a babysitter, getting reservations, money, etc.

Hmm, David and I may have to give this whole Dinner at Eight a try.
