Maine seems so different from Texas in so many ways... The weather is considerable cooler. The trees are taller. The buildings are older. And you can get lobster everywhere. But one thing is the same. The people are friendly.
The last time we were there, I was very pregnant and we were escaping the 100 degree temps of a Texas summer. Maine, with its rainy, cool fog, was like heaven to us. I could have stayed there all summer visiting farmers markets, going lobstering on the boat, and laying in a hammock by the ocean.
But we said farewell to our friends and headed back to Texas, knowing there was a baby soon to be born. We aren't sure when we will be back in Maine. But we will definitely go back. Until then David and I daydream about lobster rolls, blueberries, long conversations with good friends, and a time when all of our babies can play together on a foggy Maine beach.
